Build Africa’s Board of Directors have a wide range of skills, knowledge and relevant expertise to help ensure that the organization operates effectively.
Tanya was appointed president of Build Africa USA in 2012. She graduated with a BA Hons in Modern Languages from Exeter University, and worked in the City of London for Daiwa Europe & Shandwick Consultants. Since then she has fundraised for a number of charity organisations and has worked in the event management industry. Tanya lives in New York and is married with three children.
Neil McClelland - Treasurer
Following several years as a high school teacher, Neil McClelland worked as an education officer. He eventually became Deputy Director at Schools for the Inner London Education Authority, and Director of Education for the London Borough of Greenwich. From 1993-2006 he was the founding director of the National Literacy Trust. He now works as a consultant, development coach and a volunteer mentor and adviser to charities. Neil is Chairman of the Surrey Care Trust and a trustee of the Parents Early Education Partnership (PEEP). He was awarded an OBE for services to education in 2002.
Logan was appointed secretary of Build Africa USA in 2012, having first worked as an intern at Build Africa UK in 2011. After returning to the US, Logan worked at the Consulate General of Canada in Chicago, assisting the Trade Commissioner Service and the Foreign Policy and Diplomacy Service. Logan is now Committee Administrator for the Minnesota State Senate Capital Investment Committee.
