Individual Giving Manager

Location: Tunbridge Wells, UK (Relocating closer to London by March 2018)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £27,000 to £32,000 per annum

We are looking for a dedicated and inspiring Individual Giving Manager with the experience to:

  • Play a crucial role in our exciting ‘Change the Story’ campaign due to launch in September
  • Review campaign results and identify new opportunities for support
  • Lead the growth of Build Africa’s individual giving programme and income
  • Develop, monitor and evaluate the new donor recruitment strategy, testing new channels as appropriate
  • Ensure income is maximised through the creation of tailored donor journeys
  • Manage the Fundraising Coordinator

You will use your experience and knowledge for donor recruitment and retention, delivering high-quality donor experience and sustained income growth as well as challenge events and legacy giving programmes.

Interim Director of Finance & Resources

Location: Tunbridge Wells, UK (Relocating closer to London by March 2018)
Contract: 3/4 days per week, fixed-term
Salary: £52,000 - £57,000 per annum

As part of our ambitious plans to reach more people than ever, we are looking for a dedicated Interim Director of Finance & Resources with the experience to support us through changes within the organisation – so we can continue to create powerful and lasting change.

The Interim Director of Finance & Resources is responsible for the UK Finance and Resources Team, including our Management Accountant, Financial Controller and HR Manager, and will also provide support to teams in overseas programmes.

The role will lead on budgeting and forecasting processes, manage compliance with internal financial systems and provide financial stewardship to the organisation. They will also design and produce reports, prepare the organisation for the annual audit and ensure we are able to identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.

The successful candidate will be a professionally qualified accountant with a proven ability to lead. They will have a passion for new technologies and innovation, and an understanding of international development – preferable with significant charity or NGO experience.

The Interim Director of Finance & Resources is a member of Build Africa’s Senior Management Team and reports to the Chief Executive. They will also act as Company Secretary to the UK Board.

Social Media Intern

Location: Tunbridge Wells, UK
Contract: Part-time, fixed-term
Salary: National Minimum Wage

In September we are launching an exciting new national appeal to help vulnerable young mums in Uganda learn to read and support their families. We’re looking for a social media intern to help the communications team during this busy period.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a large scale appeal working across different media platforms to reach our fundraising target. The social media intern will support the team in the delivery and reporting of a wide-reaching public appeal.

This role will offer you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience of a dynamic and innovative fundraising team and further your communication and social media skills.

We are looking for a social media intern who will be available to work three days a week for three months.
