Director of Programmes and Fundraising

Location: Tunbridge Wells, UK (Relocating closer to London by March 2018)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 per annum, dependant on experience

Build Africa currently operates in Kenya and Uganda. As part of our ambitious growth plans to help more people than ever, we are looking for a dedicated and inspiring Director of Programmes & Fundraising with the experience to help us create powerful and lasting change.

The Director of Programmes and Fundraising is responsible for leading Build Africa’s growth and overseeing the quality and effectiveness of its programmes. They have functional responsibility for programme design and quality, fundraising, programme implementation, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning. They will play a significant role in growing Build Africa into an increasingly innovative organisation that remains deeply committed to its community development roots. Importantly, they will lead on the development of a geographic expansion plan and the introduction of social enterprise models.

The Director of Programmes and Fundraising is a member of Build Africa’s Senior Management Team alongside the Director of Finance and Resources, and reports to the Chief Executive. The extended Senior Management Team includes Country Directors from Kenya and Uganda.

Individual Giving Manager

Location: Tunbridge Wells, UK (Relocating closer to London by March 2018)

Salary: £27,000 to £32,000 per annum, dependant on experience

We are unique in our approach - supporting the ability of parents to send their children to school, while helping communities build and sustain quality education services. Build Africa currently operates in Kenya and Uganda.

As part of our ambitious growth plans to help more people than ever, we are looking for a dedicated and inspiring Individual Giving Manager with the experience to take the lead in recruiting new regular and cash donors and event fundraisers whilst also maximising income from existing individual givers. They will thrive in meeting targets and ensuring high quality supporter care and on-going donor stewardship.

The successful candidate will also take responsibility for our data, providing expert guidance on data management and Data Protection.

The Individual Giving Manager is a key member of the Programmes and Fundraising Team and line manages the Fundraising Coordinator.
